?The Travellers' Inn? is clean, cheap accommodation for backpackers, explorers, tourists and travellers on a budget. It is run by guests for guests and the profits go to charity. It's not your normal hostel or backpackers.

It has a great atmosphere due to the attitude of the staff and the guests we attract. The lounge rocks, the courtyard is unique.
Why is it so cheap? It is an old building, the carpets aren't new and we can't compete with the new hostels with televisions in every room. But we're constantly upgrading the Inn and the whole place is cleaned at 10:30 a.m. every day, and the shower rooms and toilets again in the evening.

Reception is open during the following hours:
08:30 a.m. ? 16:00 p.m.
17:00 p.m. ? 22:00 p.m.
If you arrive between these hours you can leave your luggage in our secure lock-up for free and come back when reception is open.

Atmosphere ? It's just a bloody good place to stay. We aim for a chill atmosphere where you can chill out with heaps of other people from all over the world and swap yarns. We organize regular activities, are very welcoming and if you want to join us at the movies, at the theatre, out on the town, for a barbeque you?re welcome. And if you just want to do your own thing, work or pleasure, that?s fine too.

Many types stay here, but it is cheap. It is clean, but cheap. If you don't like cheap, don't book with us. The carpet is old and so are the fittings, we have recently re-painted and have a floral mural in the women's toilet. But it is cheap. Please don't compare us to more expensive hostels.

If you?re going out on the town, we know all the spots and can point you in the right direction. Access is 24 hours, but we do ask you to be considerate of other guests. We care about the Inn and would appreciate any suggestions from the other guests.

Clean ? We live here so cleanliness is important to us too and we have two scheduled cleans a day.

Security ? Staffed 24 hours a day with 24 hour access. We have a double entry system and a secure room where all valuables, large and small, can be stored with two safes for passports, traveller's cheques etc.

Location ? Like many of Edinburgh?s hostels we are central, however, we are tucked away from the noise and located right next to Leith Walk one of Edinburgh?s cheapest shopping streets.

One step away from an incredible historical city.

Many travelers pop in for a night in Edinburgh en-route to the highlands and return on their way back down.

Long termers are always welcome, as we believe they add a friendly touch of familiarity to our backpackers - something everyone longs for when far away from home.

The Travellers' Inn is run by backpackers so we know what its like to be away from home! We try our hardest to make sure each one of you is well looked after and happy.
Our rooms are for 4-16 people.

Terms and Conditions

THE HOSTEL IS A NON SMOKING HOSTEL
(however, we do have a courtyard out the back where you can smoke)

- Age restriction: No persons under age of 18 years old.

- Earliest check-in time is 13:00, free luggage storage facilities are availiable if you arrive beforehand.

- Latest Check-in time is 22:00

- Checking out is before 11.00. You will be charged an extra £5 per person for late check outs. If not cleared with reception first.

- Any unauthorized guest will be the responsibility of the guest whom name is on the check in and will be charge £50 for this infringement

- Any excess damage will be charged to the guest responsible.

CONFIRMATION
We require confirmation that you will be arriving 24hrs before your arrival. If we don't receive confirmation your booking may be cancelled and the beds sold on.

CANCELLATION POLICY
We need to know in advance if you're not coming and charge a full cancellation handling fee if not informed within 48 hrs.

From Edinburgh Waverley Station:
Exit through the Princes' Street Mall onto Princes' Street.
Turn right and cross the road. Turn left down Leith Street.
Walk down Leith walk across two roundabouts.
Annandale Street is on the left. Walk down Annandale Street the hostel is before the roundabout,
From the bus station:
Walk down the hill to York Place.
Turn right and walk to the big roundabout. Bear left crossing York Place and heading down Leith Walk.
Cross another roundabout.
